Interested in learning authentic Indian cooking?

Come join Kalpana Nigam every First Sunday of the month at the Akbar Palace Restaurant. Classes are held between 3:30pm and 5:00pm. For details contact Akbar Palace at 410 655 1600 or e-mail  flavorsofindia@akbarpalace.com

The menu generally consists of three items, which is served as dinner for the members attending the class. The meal includes a glass of wine or soda. The class is a hands-on learning opportunity for people who want to try out and cook the delicious and nutritious Indian home style cooking.

The classes and recipes are specially designed so the preparations are easy to make and do not need any special cooking skills. It is a complete learning experience, as the students actually prepare the food items along with Kalpana. The cost of the class is  forty dollars per person which includes, printed recipes and directions, the raw materials and the meal, which is eaten after the class.

These cooking classes have also been featured in the local papers like The Community Times and The Jeffersonian.

3 Vegetable Pakodas:
Potatoes, Cauliflower and Spinach Pakodas
4 Mint Chutney:
Mint and Cilantro blended in a fine paste with spices
